FAQ

Why choose us? SO MANY REASONS! Imagine it's years from now and you're looking through your children's photos. Do you really want to see your child's face wearing a tragic lack of talent? Photos and memories last forever. It's not worth saving ten bucks. We have been doing this for many years and that's why we can offer both speed and quality. What's the point of hiring an amateur at a cheaper hourly rate that takes longer? It could end up costing more. We attend professional training conventions and classes to broaden our talent. We are insured. Have you seen our gallery of art? We are real artists. We are always using the highest quality products and follow strict safety standards. Don't settle for less!

DO YOU FOLLOW HYGEIN GUIDLINES? Yes, myself and my team all adhere to industry standard hygienic practices. We use a clean sponge/s for every child and skin safe sanitizer in our brush water which is changed regularly. Full discretion is taken to only paint clean, unsoiled faces. Our kits are wiped down and sanitized after every event.

Do you have Working With Children Checks? Yes, all our artists hold a current Working With Children Card, as well as Public Liability Insurance.

Are the products you use safe? Only the highest quality professional FDA approved cosmetic face paint, cosmetic grade glue and cosmetic glitter are used. Our face gems are home made using medical skin grade adhesives.

Do you carry insurance? Yes, I am fully insured with current public liability insurance. Documents are available upon request.

What do your safe practices involve? To prevent the spread of bacteria and other nasties we avoid painting skin which has visible signs of infection or broken or irritated skin

How many faces can you paint per hour? An average of ten full faces can be painted per hour, but can vary according to each design. Simpler designs are also super effective and work extremely well for larger events, or if combining with other services.

How can I remove face paint? Face paint can be removed by applying a makeup cleanser, Baby oil or moisturizer directly onto the area. Rub in to emulsify and lift the paint, then wipe off with baby wipes, wet tissue or paper towel.

Can you paint my baby's face? No, For your child's safety, we'd prefer not to paint the faces of kids under three years of age. Paintbrush bristles are joined to the wooden handle with thin sheet metal called the ferrule. Not ideal near the eyes of a wee wiggler. We're happy to paint a design on a little arm for kids under three. At that age, they like to be able to see it without a mirror anyway.

My kid hates getting their face painted, but it's so cute! Can you do it anyway? PLEASE don't make us! We DO NOT force anyone to get painted even if the parent wants it done, You are our customer and we want you to be happy, but the idea of forcing a child to get painted goes against what face painting is all about. We as parents tell our children to be weary of strangers and that's a good thing. Some apprehension is to be expected. We will first try to paint a design on the arm if there is an aversion to the face. Our policies support both smiles and safety. Face painting is supposed to be a fun experience - enjoyed by kids and parents alike.

Do your Face Painters dress up? For most parties – No they don’t, unless you request otherwise. We can always try and accommodate your preference. Themed parties have the entertainer dressed up as a character from that theme. We can arrange Character entertainers if you contact us for a quote. If you would prefer us to attend in plain black clothing we can do that too, this is especially helpful if you have children that may be weary of entertainers in costumes or colorful clothing.

Are Glitter Tattoos Waterproof? Glitter Tattoos are waterproof, however, do not rub tattoo whilst wet during bathing or swimming. Long regular use of chlorinated swimming pools will diminish the tattoo.

What is the minimum age for a Glitter Tattoo? We do not apply Glitter Tattoos on children under 3 years of age

Do all children get face gems? We DO NOT apply face gems on children under 3 years of age due to the risk of swallowing them. Face gems are not applied to every face, they are only applied when the artist has time and feels it suits the designs. Usually cosmetic glitters are applied.
